I would like support, but I am not sure how to organise this. I have never used the support component of my NDIS core budget, I know I have it but I don’t like the idea of a stranger being in my home. I only want a small about of support occasionally, can this be arranged? Is there someone I can talk to and find out more about Unicopia supporting me? This is a very understandable situation, and it is not uncommon. We work closely with our participants to ensure they are comfortable with any support provided. We listen to your needs & concerns. We can work with you to support you in an environment you control, that means, support workers do not need to enter your home if you are not comfortable with this.
I only want a small about of support occasionally, can this be arranged? Absolutely, support is only ever provided on a basis of what the participant needs.

Q&A Allied Health

Do I have to receive support from Unicopia to access the allied health services? No, our allied health team is here to make a difference to the wider community. Simply contact Unicopia to find out how to access our services.
How long is the waiting time before I can meet an allied health service provider? Waiting times can depend on individual location & needs, how much time is needed. We aim to respond to your enquiry within 24 hours, at that initial discussion, we will be able to provide an appointment. Our focus is to make the process of accessing Unicopia’s services easier, so we promise to help with this process & do our best to see all participants as soon as possible.
What if I need help with a problem, but I don’t have any funding in my NDIS? We would love to hear from you. This may mean simply reviewing your plan to identify any shortfall or funding not yet used. Or it may mean we need to assess your needs for your NDIS review. If you have had a change of circumstances, this is a perfect time to consider your needs for your NDIS review.
I don’t have NDIS, can you help me?
Yes, the team at Unicopia are here to help you navigate the NDIS, My Aged Care and the services available in the community to help your quality of life. We definitely would like to hear from you if you do no currently have NDIS, to determine how we can assist vulnerable members of our community.

Q&A Support Coordination

Can I access Unicopia’s Support Workers without using Unicopia’s Support Coordination? Absolutely, we offer all services and the choice and control remains the participants. I already have a Support Coordinator, can I change? Yes, at any time you can change or cancel support coordation, or any service you are receiving through the NDIS. This is your choice and control.
My plan is coming up for review, I would like to change my support coordination to Unicopia, when do I start this process? As soon as you have made this decision, we recommend you get in touch with the team at Unicopia. This is so we can make sure the process is simple for you, but also, more importantly, we can help you with the review.

Q&A Nursing Care

How do I access in home nursing? Simply contact Unicopia or ask your GP to refer you. It is as simple as asking for help.
How long is the waiting time before I can access nursing services? Waiting times can depend on individual location & needs, how much time is needed. We aim to respond to your enquiry within 24 hours. However, in the case of faster care needed, we will respond with urgency. At that initial discussion, we will be able to provide an initial appointment.
What will take place at the initial appointment? Our nurse practitioner will learn about you & your home setting. They will then be able to plan the treatment & resources needed. You may require a regular routine of nursing support, this will be discussed with the nurse at the initial appointment.
Do I have to pay for these services? If you have NDIS, then we will ascertain if your plan will provide cover for this service. This may mean an urgent review of plan, or approval sought to reallocate plan funding. If the participant is aged, they may be eligible for My Aged Care, and this process will be followed.
In the event of no NDIS and My Aged Care funding, we offer the service as a fee for service through Outreach Doctors, visit Outreach Doctors for further information. Some Private Health funds provide in home nursing, & this avenue of payment can be discussed at your initial appointment.
